Accomodations

There are three hotels near UFSC, from which you can easily walk to the university and which are close to grocery stores, restaurants and commerce:

• Hotel Quinta da Bica d'Agua
• Interclass Hotel Florianópolis
• Suítes Trindade

You should also be able to find accomodation options with AirBnB.

Getting to UFSC

The easiest way to get to UFSC from Floripa Airpor (FLN) is by cab, which should cost around R$40.00. You can also take bus 431 to TICEN and move from there to UFSC, although this should take a lot longer.

Transit/Getting around

Public transport in Florianópolis is operated by Consórcio Fênix. The standard fare is R$4,50 per ride. You can pay in the bus with cash, or buy a transit card at the main terminal (TICEN). You can find more information at Consórcio Fênix's website, including a route planner (portuguese only).

The city is also serviced by taxi, Uber and 99.

You should plan ahead of time when taking any tranport to avoid rush hour (mostly from 9 to 11 and from 17 to 19).

Tourism and culture

In Florianópolis, you will find beaches, trails, typical restaurants and historical sites. Most nature-related activities and attractions will be found around the beaches, which are up to ~25km away from UFSC. You can find detailed information on Guia Floripa.
